The plain notes in the first section appear in almost every font and are safe for chat and documents. The notation block in the second is far more detailed, so it is best kept for music software and pages where the font is known.

Why music needs its own font
The handful of notes in the first section, such as the quaver and the beamed pair, live in an everyday part of Unicode and turn up in almost any font. The deeper notation block below is a different matter. It was added for music software and academic typesetting, and most ordinary fonts never drew those characters at all, so they show as empty boxes on the average website.
JuliaMono is one of the rare fonts that draws them in full, which is why the clefs, rests and time signatures appear here as real shapes. Even so, proper sheet music is still set with dedicated software, because written music needs staves, beams and spacing that loose characters on a line can never quite provide.
